The Redlines to celebrate their new album with concert and a party

Pittsburgh-based band The Redlines will celebrate the release of their new EP, Paradise Vegas, Vol. 1, with an all-ages concert and party at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls on May 24 , the culmination of over 2 years worth of songwriting, recording, and production that all started with watching the Tom Petty biopic Runnin Down a Dream.

Lead singer and guitarist Brian Seese dove into a six-week binge of the back catalog of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers albums, which sparked memories of his time living in Las Vegas in the mid 90’s. Inspired and influenced by Petty’s songwriting, Seese began to explore his desire to move to Vegas, his experiences as a resident of Sin City and ultimately his decision to move back home to start a band.

“There’s a simplicity to Tom Petty’s songwriting but it allows for a fullness of the music,” said Seese, “There was a natural spark of inspiration and after a couple weeks I found myself writing these songs focusing on my time in Vegas. We really tried to learn from him as we put this first set of songs together”.

By design, each song on Paradise Vegas, Vol. 1 brings a more personal touch to the lyrics as well as an openness to the music. That openness allows guitarist Jason Lizzi to layer melodic leads over a full yet steady rhythm section anchored by drummer/percussionist Mark Ciorra. The extra breathing room also left space for guest musicians Demos Papadimas on harmonica as well as Chris Leonardi on keyboard and organ.

Special guests are not just reserved for the studio. For the release concert the band will be joined on stage by Brian’s son, Noah Seese, and Riley Rose of the band Palm Bodies as well as Mark Ponsonby and Joe Pelesky of Pittsburgh supergroup The Borstal Boys who will be opening the show along with garage rockers Murder for Girls. Attendees are invited to stick around the Funhouse for an after party following the show.

Paradise Vegas, Vol. 1, available May 24 on CD, 10-inch vinyl, and all major download and streaming services, is the fourth release for the group recorded in Youngstown, OH at Ampreon Studios by Pete Drivere (The Infidels, The Deadbeat Poets) and released on Pittsburgh-based Swade Records. Along with the band themselves, two songs were co-produced by Frank Secich (Blue Ash, The Stiv Bators Band, Club Wow, The Deadbeat Poets).

The first single, “Drive to L.A.”, has already garnered airplay on Butler’s WLER (97.7), Goldie’s Garage show on Sirius XM’s Little Stevens Underground Garage channel, as well as a host of other local and national Internet radio stations.

About The Redlines: Hailing from just north of Pittsburgh, PA, The Redlines have taken personal influences and past experience to create their own unapologetically catchy rock & roll, a distinct blend of twangy roots rock and crunching power-pop. No strangers to the stage or studio, Brian Seese and Jason Lizzi share lead vocal and guitar duties while Tony Vinski (bass) and Mark Ciorra (drums) fill out the formidable rhythm section. Their latest album, the 2019 EP, Paradise Vegas, Vol. 1, on Pittsburgh’s Swade Records, features the single “Drive to L.A.” The Redlines have been played on Pittsburgh’s WXDX (105.9 The X), Butler’s WLER (97.7), Youngstown, Ohio’s WNCD (93.3 The Wolf), and Goldie’s Garage on Sirius XM and they have performed across Western PA and Eastern Ohio.
